Kick off your shoes and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of barefoot lawn bowls at Payneham Bowling Club, only 10 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Whether you are catching up with friends, looking for a social activity or trying bowls for the first time, Night owls is the perfect way to spend the summer evening.

Night Owls is back for another season!
Our 2026/2027 season kicks off
- Tuesday 13 October 2026 | 7pm
- Thursday 15 October 2026 | 7pm
You can join at any time throughout the season – so don’t worry if you can’t make the first week.
When We Play
- October to March
- Tuesday and Thursday evenings
- 7:00pm start
- $10 per player
Night owls is open to all ages and abilities, with a mixed-gender competition that’s perfect for both experienced bowlers and complete beginners.
More than Just Bowls
- Sausage sizzle from 5:30pm
- Fully licensed bar
- Nightly Meat Raffle from East Side Quality Meats
- Relaxed, social barefoot bowls
Hot Weather Policy – Player safety comes first If the temperature is 38°C or above at the scheduled start time, play will be delayed for 30 minutes while conditions are reassessed. Play will only commence once the temperature falls below 38°C
